Special Recognition Award
Jeff Hamilton
Bedford Area School District
Jeff was an athlete at Bedford High School from 1967-69 lettering in
football, wrestling, and track. He is second all-time in kickoff return
average in Bedford football history. He went on to be a mentor and
inspiration for many athletes in the county today. Diagnosed with MS in
2000, he started helping coach cross country that fall and continues to
help with cross country and track today.
He completed a half marathon walk at Summit Quest in 2015 to raise money
for Bedford’s cross country team. He continues to do walks through-out
the area.  He wants everyone to remember “Nothing is Impossible!”

Dennis Clark
Everett Area School District
Actively involved in Everett Little League from 1976 to 2006,
serving as coach, board member and league officer.
Actively involved with Everett Football Boosters, serving as member
and club president from 1982 to 1994.

Clyde Mellott
Hyndman Area School District
Clyde was the man responsible for initiating the Hyndman Hornet
wrestling program. He gathered community support to begin the program,
and he coached the program as well. He was named the District 5 Coach of
the Year in 1978 and coached Hyndman’s first District 5 champion, which
was his son, Greg.

Brian K. Walter
Northern Bedford Area School District
Brian is a lifelong resident of the New Enterprise area and a 1977
graduate of Northern Bedford High School. He played on the undefeated
1975 Black Panthers Football Team.
For the past 26 years Brian has served as an Assistant Junior High
Football Coach for the Panthers. He retired from this position at the
conclusion of the 2015 football season and was honored by the State
Coaches Association this past winter for his dedication, loyalty, and
longevity in football coaching.
Brian also serves the community as the Southern Cove Fire Company’s Chief
.
