2022 Bedford County Sports Hall of Fame Special Recognition Award
Terry Gardill Bedford Area School District Terry has been a vital part of the day-to-day operations of the Bedford Athletic Department for over 15 years. Aside from the many positions that Terry has held for the school district over the years, she has given countless hours of her time and attention to our student athletes and athletic events within our district. Her service to Bedford Athletics is greatly appreciated ’and has not gone unnoticed.
Scott McGill Chestnut Ridge School District Scott McGill has put many years of hard work and dedication to Chestnut Ridge youth sports programs. Scott has served as a head coach and/or assistant coach for baseball, football and wrestling programs at various levels over the past 25 plus years. Scott’s hard work and dedication to the youth sports programs carried through to the success of Chestnut Ridge Sports at the varsity level. In February 2022, Scott was inducted into the District V Wrestling Hall of Fame for his 25 years as an assistant coach with a 350-66 combined record.
Jim Droz Everett Area School District Jim has been a strong influence in the Everett area through education and athletics. He was an educator in the Everett Area School District for 40 years. He was a long-time wrestling coach and coached Everett’s first state champion in Paul Clark. He was also a junior high football coach, athletic trainer, assistant athletic director and game manager, and president of the Everett Youth Football and Cheerleading League. He has officiated both wrestling and baseball at most every level. The people of Everett and Bedford County thank you for all that you have done.
Elwood “Woody” Diehl Hyndman Woody was a youth baseball coach for decades at all levels including Little League, Pony League, and Teener League He played over 20 years in the PEN-MAR League and other adult baseball leagues in the area. Coach Woody is considered “Mr. Baseball” in the Hyndman-Londonderry Township area by many of his former ballplayers. He is a member of the Bedford County Sports Hall of Fame Committee representing Hyndman Jr./Sr. High School and currently HOPE for Hyndman Charter School.
Rob Reed 10/5/64 to 9/8/2021 Northern Bedford School District Rob was the Northern Bedford Athletic Department Coach and Event Worker for numerous years. He was known for his willingness to step in and fill roles wherever needed as Event Staff or Coaching Panther Athletic teams at various levels. · Northern Bedford Alumnus (Class of ’82) · Assistant Varsity Football Coach · Assistant Jr. High Boys Basketball · Assistant and Head Jr. High Baseball Coach
Jerry Jenkins Tussey Mountain School District Jerry has been involved with Tussey Mountain sports for over 25 years. He has been a fixture running the clock for the following sports: wrestling, football, girls’ and boys’ basketball and volleyball. Thank you for your time and support of Tussey Mountain Athletics.
