With Title IX going into effect, the Everett volleyball program took advantage with some outstanding teams in the 1976 and 1977 seasons.
Those Lady Warrior teams went on earn 2 undefeated regular seasons, win 2 District 5 titles, and induction into the Bedford County Sports Hall of Fame for both squads.
The 1976 team did not lose a set in the regular season as it won the Bedford County League title. The Lady Warriors had 2 close sets, pulling out second sets against Hyndman and Northern Bedford, 16-14, in the first meetings of the year against those teams.
The varsity team featured Sue DuVall, Cindy Criswell, Kendra Weitzel, Deb Ault, Pam Sponsler, Janice Fabian, and Karen Miller, as well as head coach Bonnie Garner, who will also be inducted in the Bedford County Sports Hall of Fame this year.

The postseason was just as strong with a win over Somerset for the District 5 title.
At the PIAA tournament, the Lady Warriors went 0-2 with first loss coming to York, who placed second at states, and Seneca, who took third.
There was only 1 classification for volleyball at that time, and Everett was one of the smallest schools at the tournament.
The other members were JV players including Joann Fabian, Julie Miller, Rosa Verdiglione, Lori Sollenberger, Paula Waltman, Christy Feathers, and Sandy Diehl, as well as managers Karen Johnson and Sheri Foor.
With several players returning from that team, the 1977 team also had huge success. Janice Fabian, Ault, Sponsler, Criswell, and Weitzel were back on the varsity team, while Joann Fabian and Feathers moved up from the JV team. Also on the team was Lori Thompson.
The JV members of the team were Rhonda Calhoun, Judy Fabian, Treva Clark, Amy Hartle, Sandy Plessinger, Lisa Wilt, and Diehl. Johnson and Foor were back as managers.
Once again in 1977, the Lady Warriors went through the regular season undefeated at 10-0 win, all by sweeps. Only 3 teams managed to scored 10 or more points in a game against them.
The District 5 Tournament included more teams, but the Lady Warriors swept through them with wins over Shade, Hyndman, Somerset, and Shanksville to earn a 14-0 record.
Over the 2 seasons, Everett was 25-0 against District 5 competition.
The Lady Warriors earned a berth in the state tournament and drew a tough first match as they were swept by Norwin, who won the state titles in both 1976 and 1977.
Everett lost in the consolations to Haverford to conclude the season with a 14-2 record.
