Welcome,
On behalf of the board of directors of the Bedford County Sports Hall of Fame, it is my pleasure and honor to welcome you to our annual induction banquet.
The class of 2017 is an outstanding group that represents the rich sports heritage of our area. This group has richly added to the communities of Bedford County through sports.
Congratulations to all the inductees, and also a note of appreciation to the family members and friends of the inductees who are in attendance. Your support of this event guarantees it success in the future.
We want to thank the many area businesses, organizations, and individuals for their outstanding support of this program booklet. The board members have been successful in collecting advertisements to support our efforts. We appreciate this outstanding cooperation and support.
The board of directors worked together to make this event a success. The names and a photograph of the board appear in the booklet and I thank all of them for their outstanding efforts.
To the Bedford Gazette, especially the sports department, for all of the help in many ways. To board members Sam Shuss and Ned Frear, for their work in gathering infomation for on the plaques and their help in writing the profiles for the booklet. To secretary, Jeff Batzel, for his work in keeping me and everyone else informed on what we should be doing. To the rest of the board members, I am in appreciation for their work on behalf of the organization. To the great individuals that we are honoring tonight, we celebrate you this evening and we thank you for the many great memories you have provided. Without you, we would not be here this evening.
There are many more individuals deserving of this honor. With the help of everyone, these individuals will be honored in future years.
