Yvette (Brallier) Clingerman

Yvette (Brallier) Clingerman is a 1990 graduate of Everett Area High School and participated in four sports: basketball, volleyball, track and field, and softball.
As a basketball player for the Lady Warriors, she became the first Everett girl to eclipse the 1,000-point plateau. She finished her career with 1,150 points. She led the county in scoring both her junior and senior years, and she was a two-time Bedford County League First Team All-Star
She attended Hagerstown Junior College to play both volleyball and basketball. The outside hitter helped Hagerstown J.C. to the national tournament in both 1990 and 1991. They were 91-10 during those seasons.
Brallier was named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American Second Team. She was among the national leaders in hitting percentage, serving percentage, and service aces per game. She is still among the school’s leaders in all three categories.
As a freshman on the basketball team, she helped HJC to an undefeated season as a center, and was named to the Maryland Junior College (JUCO) All-Tournament Team. Her sophomore year, she was selected to the All Maryland JUCO Conference Team, the Region XX All-Tournament Team, and the Maryland JUCO All-Tournament Team.
She was later inducted into the Hagerstown Community College Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
Brallier took her talents to Radford University and played volleyball at the NCAA Division I school. Brallier is believed to be the only Division I volleyball player from Bedford County.
Her success continued for Radford as she helped the Highlanders to a 19-15 record in 1992 and a 25-11 record in 1993.
She is still in the top 10 of several Radford records during the sideout scoring era at Radford including:
Most aces in a season - first with 66 and fourth with 52
Solo blocks in a season - second with 95 and eighth with 56
Total blocks in a season - second with 185 and eighth with 121
Blocks per set in a season - second at 1.45 and sixth at 1.26
Points in a season - fourth with 507
Points per set in a season - ninth with 3.96.
In 1997 she married Lance Clingerman and lives in Clearville with her three sons. She works at Everett Area School District as a Kindergarten Teacher’s Assistant.
